Description
The process of erosion of surface layers of hypereutectic silumin alloys with a silicon content of 20 and 44 at.% under the influence of a different number of CPF pulses has been studied. It was found that erosion proceeds in a liquid phase state. Its main mechanisms are the hydrodynamic flow of the melt with its displacement beyond the edges of the sample by the CPF pressure and the evaporation of elements from the molten surface. The amount of mass removed from the surface of a sample of a silumin alloy with 20 at.% silicon is greater than that with a silicon content of 44 at.%. (authors)
