Description
High temperature gas-cooled reactors have the excellent features such as power generation efficiency, peculiar safety and the combined use for electric power generation and high temperature heat supply, and they are expected to contribute to the solution of earth environment and atomic energy PA problems. The history of the development of high temperature gas-cooled reactors exceeded 30 years, and during this period, a number of the reactors were constructed and operated, besides, meeting the demand of the age, the plan for constructing the new plants is reported, but at present, the reactor in operation is none. Now, the safety examination of the HTTR which is developed mainly by Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute approaches the end, therefore, on this occasion, the outline of its design and features and the results of research and development are summarized. The progress of development of high temperature gas-cooled reactors, the design of the HTTR, and the research and development of the reactor physics, the fuel and metallic, carbon and graphite materials, high temperature machinery and equipment, the safety and reliability tests and heat-utilizing system for the HTTR are reported. 高温ガス炉は、発電効率、固有の安全性、発電と高温熱供給との併用等の面で優れた特徴をもち、地球環境や原子力PA問題等の解決に寄与することが期待されている。高温ガス炉の開発の歴史は30年を越え、その間いくつかの炉が建設·運転され、また時代の要請に応えて薮たなプラントの建設計画も伝えられているが、現在運転中の炉は皆無の状態にある。このたび、日本原子力研究所を中心に推進されている高温工学試験研究炉(HTTR)の安全審査が終りに近付いたのを機会に、その設計の概要と特徴ならびに研究開発の成果をまとめた。 (日本)Additional details
