Development of directed crystallization process for investigation of behaviour of microquantities of f-elements in divalent state

Description

Directed crystallization of neodymium dibromide melt has been investigated; it has been carried out in welded crucibles of metallic tantalum at a special device. Behaviour of americium and europium microquantities during directed crystallization of neodymium dibromide melt is first investigated. It is detected that divalent americium and europium are cocrystallized with neodymium dibromide as well as strontium is. Possibility to use the method of directed melt cocrystallization for studying properties of lanthanides and actinides at low degree of oxidation is shown
