Spin and parity assignments in 38K via the (d, α) reaction near 00
- 1. Tandem Accelerator Laboratory, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Description
The tensor analyzing power, T20, is measured at theta = 30 in the 40Ca(d, α)38K reaction at beam energies of 7.5, 7.75, and 8.0 MeV. Assignments of a natural or unnatural parity are made for states in 38K from 1698 to 3978 keV and in several cases, spin and/or parity assignments are deduced. In particular assignments of 3-, (2, 4)-, 2-, (2-, 3+), 2-, 1+, and 1+ are made to the 2613, 2647, 2870, 3317, 3815, 3857, and 3978 keV states, respectively
