Description
Examination of defect production rates during electron irradiation of dilute copper or aluminium alloys in the stage II temperature range indicates a correlation between the size-effect of foreign atoms and their capture radii for migrating interstitials. In copper the capture radius increases with size effect, suggesting a mainly elastic interaction. The trend is reversed in aluminium so that other effects probably dominate the long-range interaction. (author)
