Calculations on the experiments No. 7-9 of the RS 246 project on hydrogen distribution in the containment, carried out at Battelle Institut, Frankfurt/Main, using the RALOC computer model
Description
Gaseous hydrogen can be produced by chemical reactions in a light water reactor after a loss of coolant accident (LOCA). By this it can be possible that a dangerous explosive gas mixture (oxyhydrogen) is developing at unfavorable locations in the containment atmosphere. It was the aim of project Wasserstoffverhalten bei Kuehlmittelverluststoerfaellen to investigate the H2-distribution as a result of convection, diffusion and solution transient. In this report numerical calculations with the computer model RALOC are presented which was developed by Jahn/6/. The calculations are compared with experimental data Nr. 7-9 performed during the project RS 246 by Battelle-Institute, Frankfurt. It is shown that the numerical model RALOC gives a good representation of the temporal and local distribution of hydrogen concentration within the containment. (orig.)

Nach einem Kuehlmittelverluststoerfall kann in einem Leichtwasserreaktor aufgrund chemischer Reaktionen Wasserstoff entstehen. In der Containmentatmosphaere kann es dabei an unguenstigen Stellen und ohne Gegenmassnahmen zur Bildung eines gefaehrlichen Gasgemisches (Knallgas) kommen. Ziel des Forschungsvorhabens Wasserstoffverhalten bei Kuehlmittelverluststoerfaellen ist es, die H2-Verteilung aufgrund von Konvektion, Diffusion und Loesungstransport zu untersuchen. Im vorliegenden Bericht sind die Nachrechnungen der experimentellen Untersuchungen Nr. 7-9 mit dem Rechenmodell RALOC dargestellt und der Vergleich zu den Messergebnissen anhand von Beispielen gebracht. Es zeigt sich, dass das Rechenmodell RALOC den zeitlichen und oertlichen Verlauf der Wasserstoffkonzentration im Containment gut wiedergibt. (orig./HP)
