Description

Subbarrier fusion with dissipation is studied in a model describing the tunnelling of a particle coupled to an environment of oscillators. The appearance of advanced forces in the semiclassical treatment is discussed. A special example in the sudden limit is used to investigate numerically the validity of the WKB Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation. (author)
