Description
In-Vessel Retention (IVR) is a potential means of mitigating the progression of a severe accident. Using IVR, molten core debris is stabilized by cooling the outer surface of the reactor vessel. In this study, failure probability of IVR to mitigate the progression of a severe accident has been comprehensively analyzed using the Risk-Oriented Accident Analysis Methodology (ROAAM). (author)
