Radial flow of spectator fragments in interactions of gold nuclei with photoemulsion nuclei at energy 10.7 A GeV

Description

Experimental data on dependencies of the spectator fragment multiplicity and kinetic energies on bounded charge are presented. It is shown that contrary to the expectations of the statistical model of multifragmentation of the nuclei supplemented by the Regge model of nuclear destruction, the kinetic energies of the fragments do not decrease with decreasing of bounded charge. This behavior is considered as a result of a strong radial flow of the spectator fragments which has not been observed before
