Influence of the acidity on the polymerisation of Hf(IV) in aqueous solutions of HfOCl2 observed by the time differential perturbed angular correlation technique

Description
TDPAC measurements on the 133 to 482 keV γ-γ cascade of 181Ta in hydrochloric solutions of hafnium oxychloride and in crystallized HfOCl2, 8H2O have been performed. In the solutions, a strong attenuation of the anisotropy is observed at room temperature. The variations of the correlation time with the acidity are interpreted with Debye's model and attributed to the change of degree of polymerisation. (author)
