Description

We discuss an effective Lagrangian model in which the U(1) chiral symmetry is restored above the SU(L)xSU(L) chiral phase transition (L being the number of light flavours) and the topological susceptibility χYM of the pure Yang-Mills theory drops to zero above the chiral transition. A new order parameter is introduced for the U(1) chiral symmetry and a new ''exotic'' particle becomes relevant at high temperatures. (orig.)
