Comparative study of long distance transport of various radioelements in the Thallus of Laminaria digitata (Linne) Lamouroux
Description
The mobility of S, Rb, Cl, Mo and Ca is compared on the same thallus of Laminaria digitata, with the translocation of 32P previously pointed out and which is considered as a control. The radioisotopes 35S and 86Rb are mobile and their translocation is orientated like that of 32P; 36Cl, 99Mo and 45Ca appear to be non mobile compared to 32P. The results are discussed as to the metabolism of each ion, in relation with the tissue concentrations and with the ionic exchanges with the medium, P being characterized by a low exsorption (5 to 15%), Ca on the other hand, by an important exsorption (80%)
