Study on multiple environment adjustability of ceramics system MCM
- 1. National Inst. for Materials Science, Tsukuba, Ibaraki (Japan)
Description
Development studies on MCM (multi composite material) of ceramics system have proceeded for nuclear materials. It has been known that YAG-Al2O3 and SiC homo-composite developed hitherto have enough characteristics for MCM raw materials and good mechanical strength. In this study, effects of B, C and metal boride as sintering agent for the SiC homo-composite were examined. It was cleared that organic combination of TRG (transit reflecting grating) method and TR (transit reflectivity) method and TR (transit reflectivity) measurement, both of which are complementary to each other, became available to monitor various changes of physical properties on the irradiated material-surface with high sensitivity.
