Proposal for a Council resolution accepting a research programme of the European Atomic Energy Community for the safety of thermal light-water reactors

Description
Article 1: A research programme for reactor safety (thermal light-water reactors) according to the annex is adopted for a period of 5 years, starting on July 1st, 1978. The annex is a firm part of this resolution. Article 2: Financial obligations to realize this programme are estimated at 8,800,000 u.a.; a staff of 5 is to be allotted for the programme. Article 3: The programme as defined in the annex will be reexamined for its suitability after the end of the second year. Article 4: The powers of the advisory programme committee reactor safety of the joint research centre (direct action), established according to a (Council resolution dated July 18th, 1977, are extended onto the field of the indirect programme which is part of the present resolution. Artikel 1: Ein Forschungsprogramm fuer Reaktorsicherheit (thermische Leichtwasserreaktoren) gemaess der Anlage wird fuer eine Zeit von fuenf Jahren, beginnend am 1. Juli 1978, beschlossen. Die Anlage ist fester Bestandteil dieses Beschlusses. Artikel 2: Die Ausgabenverpflichtungen zur Verwirklichung dieses Programms betragen schaetzungsweise 8 800 000 Europaeische Rechnungseinheiten; bei der Kommission werden fuenf Stellen fuer das Programm geschaffen. Artikel 3: Das Programm, wie in der Anlage dargestellt, wird am Ende des zweiten Jahres in zweckdienlicher Weise ueberprueft. Artikel 4: Die Kompetenzen des Beratenden Programmausschusses Reaktorsicherheit der Gemeinsamen Forschungsstelle (direkte Aktion), der laut Ratsbeschluss vom 18. Juli 1977 geschaffen wurde, werden auf den Bereich des indirekten Programms, das Gegenstand des vorliegenden Beschlusses ist, ausgedehnt. (orig.)Additional details
