Open charm production as background to the process: γ+p → γ+X

Description
The perturbative QCD approach is used to calculate the invariant cross section of open charm production in Deep Compton scattering at high energy. The basic subprocess considered is γG → γcanti c, and the background due to the charm excitation subprocess γc → γc is also estimated. A simplified expression is studied and compared to the full calculation. (orig.)
