Description
A project to develop nucleo electric space power systems, sub project RESPA, is in progress since 1987 at the Instituto de Estudos Avancados of the Centro Tecnico Aeroespacial, with a view to a possible future application in the Brazilian Space Program. This paper describes the selected system, special aspects of the reactor compared to terrestrial power reactors, and current and planned activities of RESPA. (author)
