Asymptotic solution of the transfer equation for linearly polarized x-ray and gamma radiation
Description
The transfer equation is analyzed in a representation which permits all the parameters of the equation to be expressed through spherical angles. It is shown that in the low-energy limit this equation changes into a well-known optics equation. An asymptotic solution of the transfer equation is obtained for the plane-parallel problem with three-dimensional azimuthal symmetry
