Photoconductivity originated from dissociation of excitons in Cd/sub 1-x/Mn/sub x/Te
Description
Photoconductivity under steady illumination was measured at low temperatures in p-type Cd/sub 1-x/Mn/sub x/Te (x = 0.05, 0.15, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40) as a function of photon energy in the energy gap range. The energy position of the peak in the spectrum of photosensitivity as well as its halfwidth suggest its relation to excitons in the crystal. A new model of exciton dissociation as an origin of photoconductivity is proposed
