Spatial distributions of scandium in granules of various ion exchangers
Description
Efficiency of various ionites for scandium isolation from sulfuric acid solutions was studied. By the methods of scanning electron microscopy and X-ray spectral microanalysis regularities of sorptional absorption of scandium and concomitant elements on the cationites were investigated. Analysis of results of scandium volumetric distribution over ionites granules has shown that the AFI-21 ampholyte possesses the best capacity and kinetic characteristics of all types of ionites studied. Assumptions are made on probable mechanism of scandium sorption on different ionites
