Description

A special facility called a 'hot cell' where direct access for crane operator is not possible because of high radioactivity. The ambient condition of hot cell is highly radioactive and corrosive. Hot cell is marked as red zone and personal entry is restricted. Such hot cells are equipped with remote handling gadgets like Hot cell crane commonly known as In-cell crane, power manipulator, Three Piece Manipulator (TPM). etc. In-cell crane is designed with special features to suit hot cell environment. Usually in-cell crane in conjunction with wall mounted TPMs covers remote handling of entire hot cell. In-cell crane is considered as life-line of the plant
