Extraction of Am and Eu by diamides of dipicolinic acid in organic fluorine-containing solvents

Description
Extraction of Am and Eu by diamides of dipicolinic acid in organic fluorine-containing solvents is studied. It is determined that N,N'-diethyl-N,N'-di(n-tolyl)diamide of dipicolinic acid (EtTDPA) dissolves well in fluorinated solvents and its solutions permit to extract transplutonium and rare earth elements from nitric acid solutions. Extraction ability of EtTDPA in fluorinated polar solvents is higher than in CHCl3. During extraction by EtTDPA selectivity of Am/Eu separation does not depend on extractant concentration and decreases with medium acidity increasing. Am is extracted better than Eu, that permits to separate Am from Eu selectively
Abstract (Russian)
Изучена экстракция Am и Eu диамидами дипиколиновой кислоты во фторорганических растворителях. Установлено, что N,N'-диэтил-N,N'-ди(n-толил)диамид дипиколиновой кислоты (EtTDPA) хорошо растворяется во фторированных растворителях и его растворы позволяют извлекать трансплутониевые и редкоземельные элементы из азотнокислых растворов. Экстракционная способность EtTDPA во фторированных полярных растворителях выше, чем в CHCl3. При экстракции EtTDPA селективность разделения Am/Eu не зависит от концентрации экстрагента и снижается при увеличении кислотности среды.
