A new expression for two-nucleon reduced widths in the symmetric two-center shell model

Description
Using the symmetry properties of a Gauss-type function used for the description of the intrinsic wave function of a two-nucleon bound system, a new expression for the reduced widths in the symmetric two-center shell model is obtained, by integrating directly on the single particle coordinates. The new expression is much simpler than the previous one obtained with the help of the Taylor-series method. It is also shown that in the limit of one-center shell model the new expression gives the well-known expression for the Nilsson model. (author)
