Development of mixed oxides processing using microspheres prepared by sol-gel technique
- 1. Instituto de Pesquisas Energeticas e Nucleares (IPEN), Sao Paulo, SP (Brazil)
Description
In this paper are described the fabrication procedures of microspheres using the Sol-Gel technique by external gelation and two alternative processes of calcination/reduction of the products. The influence of these methods on the specific surface are of the U O2 microspheres is analysed. The compressibility is analysed according to the results of compression tests. The loss of carbon due to the presence of polyvinyl alcohol in the uranyl nitrate and the presence of the impurities in the processes are discussed. (author). 8 refs, 14 figs, 4 tabs
