Description
The most part of the hydrothermal sources are located in the northern half of Tunisia, where the very pronounced tectonic played an important role in their appearance. the waters feeding geothermal circuits have exclusively a meteoric origin. The main source of sulfate results from the solution of Trias evaporites. A contribution of bicarbonates by deep CO2 dissolution probable for certain sources. This contribution makes more difficult the interpretation of the 14C contents providing only a maximal evaluation of the residence time (author)
