Interrelation of critical temperatures of brittleness with mechanical properties and crack resistance of steels

Description
Proceeding from the two-criterial method of estimation of limiting load-carrying capacity of metalwork with crack, general constitutive equations are suggested to find brittle temperatures for a body with crack. A possible approach to solution of such equations is pointed out. It is shown that the value of critical brittle temperatures of body with crack is completely stipulated by geometric peculiarities of specimen or structure, mechanical properties and crack resistance of the material, which in their turn, depend on the load rate, medium corrosiveness and so on. Determination of the temperature Tx for certain types of standardized specimens is practically examplified
