A self-consistent treatment of the nuclear isoscalar quadrupole motion

Creators

Description

A method recently proposed which reduces the computation of adiabatic masses of the general collective motion corresponding to a given path, into a constrained Hartree-Fock problem is presented. Some numerical aspects of the method are discussed and results are given for the isoscalar quadrupole mode, with a special emphasis on two sub-shell closed non spin saturated nuclei (12C and 56Ni)
