Study of properties of 12MKh steel with duplex microstructure
- 1. Ural'skij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Sverdlovsk (USSR)
Description
The possibility is investigated to produce a duplex ferritic- martensitic structure in the 12MKh steel using heat treatment. It is found that a quenching from austenization temperature 900 deg C to water and a repeated quenching from a two-phase region (740 deg C) result in the formation of structure with 20-25% martensite content. Such a structure corresponds to the optimum complex of mechanical properties with the minimum yield strength/ultimate strength ratio
