A multichannel analyser

Description

As a result of the cooperation between the Delft University of Technology and the Charles University in Prague in the field of the computational physics, a multichannel analyser has been developed on the Delft University of Technology, Department of Applied Physics, Group for Systems and Signal processing. The analyser is to provide dataacquisition from the special purposes Isingprocessor built in the cooperation as well. The inputing 16-bit data are interpreted as an address of an internal memory and an increment of the instant contents of that address is provided by a specially quick manner. The set of possible 216=65 536 addresses is split into 16 sections 4k each. For any section, an apart wordlength up to 32 bits may be fixed using an internal connector; also, the behaviour by overflow may be set for any section independently. As a result, any memorycell contains the number of occurrance of the memory cell address on the input of the analyser. The contents of the momory may be either displayed on a built-in 16-digit hexidecimal display or sent digit-by-digit to any computer-like device. The inputdata holdtime is 50 ns, the whole processing takes 450 ns. The maximal outputrate is set to 2 μs per digit. A special care is taken to provide the full security against possible power-failures. (orig.)
