Surface stability in a hot-plasma liquid-metal limiter
- 1. School of Physics and Mathematical Sciences, The Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland
Description
We examine the oscillation build-up at a hot-plasma liquid-metal limiter interface of a fusion reactor. The MHD stability of the liquid- metal interface is studied when the external magnetic field is perpendicular to the surface and there are no plasma instabilities. The electric field behavior at the wall may have a substantial effect on the liquid-metal laminar flow stability. This theoretical description is applied to a lith ium film 3 mm thick at 600K
