On criteria of thick-sheet steel deformability

Criteria of thick-sheet deformability (taking as examples the 20Kh2N4A and 12Kh2N4A steels) are suggested. They characterize operating ability of steel at linear and volumetric stresses. Regularities of the connection between these criteria and values of gradual and total elongation, impact viscosity and the mean stress in the linear scheme of the stress are reaffirmed theoretically and experimentally. The regularities obtained permit to forecast the sheet behaviour during the operations of straightening and bending in the cold state
