Radiochemical investigation of hydroxide films. 7. Electron microscopic study of structure of deposits and films of titanium hydroxide
- 1. Ural'skij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Sverdlovsk (Russian Federation)
Description
A thin-layer titanium hydroxide, prepared by the method of appearing reagents and featuring a high specificity towards uranium and other hydrolyzed elements, has been studied to create sorbents with the optimal internal organization permitting a rapid and complete extraction of radionuclides. The results of the electron-microscopic study of the structure of titanium hydroxide deposits and films are presented. Hierarchic structure of titanium hydroxide is defined and the sizes particles forming the deposits and films are ascertained. It is shown that ultramicro- and microparticles are basic elements determining sorptional properties of the materials produced. 12 refs.; 4 refs.; 4 tabs
