Positron lifetime measurements in a II-VI compound: indium doped CdTe

Description

Positron lifetime measurements in as-grown cadmium telluride crystals doped with indium give direct evidence of the presence of monovacancies. The average positron lifetime is measured as a function of temperature. Two different behaviours appear, depending on temperature: in the 5 to 80 K range, one single lifetime is measured, in the 80 to 300 K range, two lifetimes are detected. Positrons are trapped in a defect which may be attributed to a Cd monovacancy

Des mesures de temps de vie du positon dans des cristaux bruts de croissance de tellurure de cadmium dopes par l'indium ont mis en evidence la presence d'une monolacune piegeant le positon a des temperatures superieures a 80 K. Il s'agit tres probablement d'une lacune de cadmium
