Mining and radiation protection law
Description
The article deals with the hazards of ionising radiation in the mining sector for the mining employees, the neighbouring population and the environment, with regard to prospecting, mining and processing radioactive ores. Due attention must also be paid to stockpiles, radioactive waste and imports of radioactive minerals. International radiation protection laws are to be applied on the basis of Euratom, IAEA, OECP/NEA and ICRP. The national law to be applied is Basic Law, Atomic Energy Law, and the Radiation Protection Ordinance of 1976. This law includes all activities having to do with mining of radioactive minerals, transport, imports and exports and waste management. Last not least, questions concerning the supervision carried out by the state and the administration are dealt with. (HSCH)
Abstract (German)
Der Artikel eroertert die Gefahr ionisierender Strahlen im Bergbau beim Aufsuchen, Gewinnen und Aufbereiten von radioaktiven Erzen fuer die Bergbaubeschaeftigten, fuer die benachbarte Bevoelkerung und die Umgebung. Zu beruecksichtigen sind ebenso Halden, radioaktive Abfaelle und Einfuhr radioaktiver Bodenschaetze. Anwendbar sind internationale Strahlenschutzbestimmungen auf der Grundlage von Euratom, IAEA, OECP/NEA und ICRP. Das nationale anwendbare Recht sind Grundgesetz, Atomgesetz und die Strahlenschutzverordnung von 1976. Unter diese Verordnung fallen alle Bergbautaetigkeiten fuer radioaktive Mineralien, ihre Befoerderung, Einfuhr und Ausfuhr und die Abfallbeseitigung. Abschliessend werden Fragen der staatlichen Aufsicht und der Verwaltungsbehoerden behandelt. (HSCH)Additional details
