Investigation of the interaction between chlorides of aluminium and cesium by the tensimetric method
Description
Volatilities of the components from the AlCl3-CsCl molten mixtures depending on temperature (828 to 1128 K) and composition (from 2.5 to 33 mole % AlCl3) by the superposition method have been measured. A method is proposed to calculate the partial vapor phase component pressures considering the formation of Cs2AlCl5 therein. Dissociation constants (Cs2AlCl5 reversible AlCl3 + 2CsCl) were determined. The activity coefficients calculated for aluminium trichloride for the solutions diluted with respect to it have values around 10 -5, which is due to the formation of strong complex anionic clusters type of AlCl63- in the melt
