This article briefly reviews the status of food irradiation in Asia. Results of market testing of irradiated foods are presented, and the irradiated foods cleared for sale in the member countries of the Asian Regional Co-operative Project on Food Irradiation are listed. The irradiation plants either commissioned or under construction in the member countries are tabulated. 1 ref., 3 tabs
