Description
The origin of the multiple peak structure of the electronic Raman scattering spectra in Ce-doped Nd2CuO4 is examined using the superposition model of the crystal field. Results of the model calculation based on available local structure data indicate that the Raman structure examined arises due to the Ce-doping induced local structure deformation associated with charge transfer.
