Analysis of variations in the nature of interatomic bond in the fusion of tellurium on the basis of an experimental study of magnetic susceptibility
Description
Using precision methods magnetic susceptibility at high temperature of liquid tellurium is measured. It is shown that at 825K inversion of magnetic susceptibility sign indicating tellurium transformation into metallic state is observed. On the basis of obtained experimental data with the use of the measured results of electric conductivity and the Hall effect, the Te4+ medium ion radius and radius of the first coordination sphere, being in good agreement with the reference data and data of X-ray diffraction analysis are calculated. The effective mass for the state density in liquid tellurium is determined
