Sulphur isotopic study on chalcopyrite from Sankadih, western Singhbhum shear zone, Jharkhand, India
- 1. Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research, New Delhi (India)
- 2. Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research, Bangalore (India)
Description
Chalcopyrite separated from uraniferous chlorite quartz schist from Sankadih (22 deg 46 min 22 sec: 85 deg 46 min 5 sec, 73 F/13), western part of Singhbhum Shear Zone (SSZ), Bihar has δ34S values that ranges from +0.9 to +3.4 % (per mil). The range of δ34S values of chalcopyrite points to sulphur of magmatic hydrothermal origin or modified due to metamorphic recrystallisation. The geological setting and petromineralogical character of host rock supports that interpretation. (author)
