2022 negaWatt scenario: 4 - The detailed scenario; 5 - Energy/material assessments of the scenario
Description
Two (last) chapters of presentation of the 2022 negaWatt scenario are completing three previously published ones. A chapter proposes a detailed presentation of the scenario through a presentation of the methodological approach (global approach, methodology and hypotheses, introduction of the material impacts and carbon print), a discussion of the fact that the demand in energies and materials can decrease (sobriety potential for buildings, improvement of building energy performance, sobriety and efficiency of building equipment, stakes and levers for transports, new mobility habits to be developed, more sober and efficient road vehicles with decarbonized building, more sober use of eco-responsible products, evolution of the demand in food products and bio-sourced products), a discussion of a re-designed production of materials and consumer goods to minimise negative impacts (reconfiguration of the production of agricultural and forest areas, a more local industry which consumes less materials, production with a management of the use of mineral resources, less energy-intensive industrial processes), a description of a 100 pc renewable energy production (unavoidable decay of fossil energies, bio-sourced energy production on the first row, other thermal renewable energies, crucial role of wind power, territorial development of photovoltaic solar energy, other electrical renewable energies, limited material impact of renewable energies, end of the nuclear sector in 2045 without EPR), and a description of smart combination of energy demand and offer (relationship between vectors and usages, stakes and solutions for the security of supply, the emergency to accelerate the rate of development of renewable energies, a governance which trusts territories). The other chapter proposes energy/material assessments (diagrams and brief comments) of the scenario in terms of final energy consumption, of primary energy consumption, of evolution of vectors, of production of renewable energies, of production of fossil and nuclear energies, of final energy production per activity sector, of primary energy production, of raw materials, and of Sankey diagrams
