Tumors of the carotideo body: Revision of 25 cases. Imagenologic Characteristics

Description

This article presents diagnostic images of a series of 25 patients with 28 glomus tumours, evaluated at the department of diagnostic imaging of the Fundacion Santa Fe, during a period of 13 years. Most lesions were localized at the carotid bifurcation. Several diagnostic modalities were used, including Doppler ultrasound (DUS), computed tomography (CT), conventional angiographies, magnetic resonance imaging (mal) and nuclear medicine. Emphasis is made on the imaging findings of these lesions with the diagnostic modalities used, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Although ma and CT are very helpful for the detection of these lesions, a proposed imaging algorithm-using DUS as the initial modality is presented
