On emission line profiles in spectra of solar flares
Description
Profiles of an emission line for radiation from ane-dimensional medium of optical thickness tau0 with a constant gradient γ of velocity are calculated for the function of S(tau) sources of the form S(tau)=a(1+Br). The parameters of γ, γ tau0, B, a, and delta ν0 can be determined by comparing the calculated profiles with observed ones. The distribution of primary sources can then be found by substituting the obtained parameters in the integral equation for radiation transfer. Theoretical profiles are compared with those observed in spectra of solar flares
