Profile monitor for the extracted electron beam
Description
Two kinds of profile monitors have been built to monitor the extracted beam from the INS electron synchrotron. They are of the multiwire proportional chamber-type. The one has an effective area of 40 mm x 40 mm and a wire spacing of 2.5 mm, and can be set in the vacuum chamber. Another is constructed compactly and movably, to monitor the beam profile and position at a target point of the experiment. This chamber has an effective area of 96 mm x 96 mm and a wire spacing of 2 mm. Both chambers are successfully used in the extracted electron beam of intensity 107 -- 1010 e/pulse. (auth.)
