Description
The paper briefly describes the working principle of data acquisition for both single-well and multi-well radioimmunoassay (RIA) counting systems and the software developed for data acquisition, data reduction and data presentation. These systems provide a number of alternative methods of curve fitting and calculation of unknowns. These include logit-log, four parameter logistic (4PL) for RIA and point-to-point linear, 4PL for immunoradiometric assay (IRMA). The curve fitting routine includes print-out of the parameters of the equation and a measure of goodness of fit. A table is provided which indicates the percentage difference between the given concentration of each standard and the value calculated from the equation of best fit. Finally a graph of the equation is plotted and each standard point indicated. A table is also provided which indicates the concentration levels of the patients along with their patient code.
