Cross sections relevant to gamma-ray astronomy

Description
Cross sections were measured for the production of γ rays by 2- to 24-MeV protons on 14N, 20Ne, 24Mg, 28Si, and 56Fe. Excitation functions are shown for the 1.37-MeV γ from the 24Mg(p,p') reaction and the 1.63-MeV γ from the 24Mg(p,pα) reaction. Doppler-broadened lineshapes of 4.44-MeV γ rays from the 12C(p,p') reaction are shown for incident protons of 8, 12, and 16 MeV. 2 figures
