Apparatus for automatic gas-phase chromatography

Description
This report describes the development of an apparatus for separating automatically, by ion-exchange, certain fission products (Te, Cd, Pd, Mo, and Ru); four samples can be treated simultaneously. An electronic control, based on the use of a time-switch, injects, very accurately, equal volumes of the eluents into the four columns. Up to nine eluents can be used, A heating device makes it possible to carry out a continuous evaporation of the eluents as they leave the column. After a description of the apparatus, a typical experiment is presented to illustrate the working of the apparatus. (author)

Ce rapport decrit la mise au point d'un appareillage permettant de separer automatiquement par echange d'ions, certains produits de fission (Te, Cd, Pd, Mo, Ru) simultanement sur 4 echantillons. Une commande electronique, basee sur une minuterie, regle l'injection de volumes egaux d'eluants, avec precision, sur les 4 colonnes. On peut utiliser jusqu'a neuf eluants. Un systeme de chauffage permet l'evaporation en continu des eluants a leur sortie des colonnes. Apres la description de l'appareillage, une manipulation type en illustre le fonctionnement.
