Bleeding blanket of thermonuclear reactor
Description
The surface of fine solid particles such as LiO2, Li2ZrO3 and LiAlO2 is coated with fine particles of metal Li or LiPb to provide fine composite particles. The fine composite particles are suspended in a lithium liquid metal to provide a solid/liquid two phase fluid, and it is circulated between the inside and the outside of the reactor as a tritium breeding material. The breeding material is a solid/liquid two phase fluid, and the fluid has the same heat conductivity at a cooling surface as that of liquid metal. Since the fluid is a suspension of liquid metals as a highly conductive material and fine solid particles as an insulative material, electric resistance is increased substantially corresponding to the volume ratio and, if fine particles occupies 50% vol, electric resistance is increased to about 2times. Accordingly, electromagnetic force generated by the flow of the suspension, that is, a braking force can be reduced to about 1/2. Further, since the liquid metals and the fine solid material are also breeding materials in the same manner as Li and Li compound, the circulation is easy thereby providing a breeding blanket for a thermonuclear reactor capable of generating tritium efficiently, being easily exchanged and having excellent heat removing performance and high reliability.
