Neutrino-electron scattering, progress with the charm II detector

  • 1. CERN, Geneva, (Switzerland)

Description

The relevance of a precise determination of sin2 Θw in purely leptonic neutrino-electron scattering is briefly reviewed. The severe experimental problems involved in the measurement are discussed. A progress report is given after the first year of operation of the new dedicated CHARM II detector in the SPS wide-band neutrino beam. The isolation of the largest world sample of νμe → νμe and antiνμe → antiνμe events is reported
