Fluctuating sources and second-order radiometry

  • 1. Landis und Gyr A.G., Zug (Switzerland)

Description

Fluctuations and correlations in radiometry are investigated for fields from planar sources of any statistical state. Angular-intensity fluctuation and angular-intensity autocorrelation are studied together with the related reciprocity between the field in the source plane and in the far zone. The new concepts of second-order radiance, second-order emittance and fluctuation efficiency are discussed for different types of model sources. Fluctuation efficiency and radiation efficiency are compared in the case of chaotic sources with Gaussian correlation and fluctuation profile
