Standardisation of HPGe and NaI (TL) gamma spectrometry systems for low-level counting
- 1. Health Physics Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
Standardization of the instrument is a must before deploying into routine measurement for the specific application. Standardisation is nothing but calibration of the instrument with respect to the measurand. The Low Level counting Lab been equipped with both HPGe based high resolution gamma spectrometry systems and NaI (Tl) based scintillation gamma spectrometry systems. This paper discusses the standardization of p-type HPGe with 50 % relative efficiency with respect to 7.62 cm x 7.62 cm NaI (Tl) coupled with DSP based MCA was carried out
