One-photon IR-photodissociation of diatomic molecular ions
Creators
Description
The results of an investigation of one-photon photodissociation of H2+, D2+, HD+, N2+ ions together with isotopes, O2+ and I2+, occurring under the action of CO2 laser radiation, are presented. The work was conducted on a mass spectrometer with two magnetic analyzers and a collision chamber situated between them. The ions were produced in an ion source with electron impact. It was shown that photodissociation occurs as a result of electronic transitions from high vibrational levels of various electronic states of the ions to the closest repulsive state. 23 refs., 3 figs
